Dr. Virgina Schafer has practiced clinical and alternative medicine for over 30 years, has been writing research papers, lectures and educational papers for the last ten years. Virginia is working for several educational institutiions and has published a manual on Fibromyalgia called Fibro Facts. She did her mentorship with Dr. Kelly Sems, the Chief of Rheumatology at Maricopa Hospital and went on to study with the Arthritus Foundation as a volunteer and led support groups all over the country. Nonprofits is one of her passions and she formed a nonprofit in 2006, called Medical Organization for Relief and Education. Her organization has helped international clinics, schools, and close to home free clinics and associations on the gulf coast. She received a scholarship to attend the Mississippi Center for NonProfits Leadership Training and has been active in Mississippi nonprofits from grant seeking and writing to fundraising and program collaboration. Virginia serves on multiple nonprofit boards. Dr. Virginia is still in practice, and is a freelance writer. She is President of the Delta Writers Association, V.P. of the State Mississippi Writers Guild and is a member of the American Medical Writers Association.
Dr. Heinz Peter Schafer, Mph, MD
Dr. Peter is board certified in Preventive Medicine and is a Medical Review Officer. He has a uniquie background as a chemist and occupational health engineer before he attended Medical School and has also practiced Occupational and Environmental Medicine. He also has experience in research and statistics. Dr. Schafer is currently working at Parchman Prison (Miss. State Penitentiary) in Mississippi as acting Medical Director and physician in a prison hospital. He is currently writing articles and doing research on Preventative Medicine and public Health issues in the prison setting.
