Non-Profit organizations or NOT FOR PROFIT (NPO) collects funds to help pursue goals and missions through their services and programs.

Any surplus on monies is not distributed to the members but goes back into the service budget. For the most part non-profits are exempt from income and property taxation. The Non profit organization is usually run by a board and members. Usually non profits are made up of a few paid personnel but the majority of workers are unpaid volunteers and even the board and executives work for no compensation. . Lately, however, there have been a growing number of non-profits that achieve their goals by utilizing for profit enterprises.

Some non-profits include charities, arts and club organizations, community organizations, service organizations and many others.

Dr. Virginia Schafer has been on board with the Foundation Organization – a worldwide company that teaches grant seeking, writing, and other resources to keep the non profit informed about the trends in giving. They also have the largest software system for grant seeking, an online plethora of information and resources for nonprofits and helps within communities to provide educational and financial services. Dr. Virginia teaches a class in her community on the foundation grant seeking software.

Non- Profit Services:

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Our future prosperity will depend on strengthening communities by advancing creative ideas and solutions, and connecting citizens to opportunities. Advancing, connecting and strengthening - this is the daily work of an often overlooked part of our economic engine: the nonprofit community.

Non-profits invest significant financial and organizational resources in our communities by promoting ideals and improving quality of life. From protecting the environment to developing our future community leaders and entrepreneurs, to supporting the early care and education of our children, to protecting our most vulnerable citizens, the nonprofit is the key to our present and our future.

Collaboration and Networking are the buzz words in the nonprofit world today.  Money is tighter than ever, so it is of utmost importance to SHARE.  By collaborating projects and working together – much more can be done with less money and more volunteers.

Community Speed Networking for Nonprofits (CSN)

This is great for a small community, with many nonprofits and charities that are struggling.  Many cannot afford a personal grant researcher or writer, a staff of clerical workers and fundraisers. They may also be struggling to keep a large pool of trained volunteers and may not have the support that they need to succeed.

CST is a group consulting effort that can be arranged in a community setting for social and networking support for the nonprofit and charity.  After an initial analysis, consultants will suggest collaborations and other solutions to accomplish the community and individual nonprofit’s goals. The consultant(s) will mediate several weekly or monthly meetings (time /date will depend on the consensus of the group). However, after several meetings, the Your CSN group will be on its own with constant online or telephone support from Smart Doc Resources.  We strongly suggest that these timely meetings continue to ensure support, networking and collaborative resources.

Community Speed Networking is the answer:

  1. Consultants come to your community to arrange networking for the small nonprofit and charity organizations.
  2. They analyze your Strengths and weakness’ as a community and suggest a series of support networking and social meetings to “connect” and “share”. This is done on a community basis, however, individual nonprofit business analysis is also available.
  3. As a group, a grant researcher/writer can be hired
  4. As a group, a professional fundraiser can be hired
  5. As a group, office and staff personnel can be hired
  6. Shared grants – grant collaborations, open up more  available funds
  7. Shared volunteers on collaborative projects
  8. Social and networking – support the nonprofits and charities as a whole also supports your community as a team.
  9. Advice on how to start a nonprofit, how to process the federal and state paperwork and where to get more support and resources.
